A News Release Statement Regarding the Current Situation of Solfest 2021.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. It’s been a long cold winter, and I’m sure, like us, you have been feeling the isolation of the latest lockdown.
With thanks to the new government guidelines, we now have a light at the end of this very long and dark tunnel.
We intend to run Solfest 2021 as the wonderful music festival you all know and love with no social distancing measures in place. We have a full programme of music, art, comedy, theatre and much much more. While we have been quiet these past few months, we have been extremely busy behind the scenes. Thanks to the Culture Recovery Fund by the Arts Council of England, we have been building a new team that will provide the best possible experience our event goers, artists and traders can ever achieve at Solfest.
Within the coming weeks, we have several announcements that will keep you entertained during this final stretch of the lockdown. We have recently announced Solfest Live, a series of free live-streamed music events that will get you groovin’ for Solfest 2021. We are hoping to get you into these wonderful live gigs once lockdown measures are eased. We are close to finalising our expanded line-up and have a few more surprises up our sleeves that are coming very soon. We feel that we are lucky to have you as our attendees and want you to have the best possible experience you can at our festival. We are always looking to give back to our tight-knit community, so keep a lookout on our socials to be updated about the latest news.
As the festival comes near, we still need to grow our family. Applications for traders, volunteers and the Site Art Grant are still open. We expect to have our most diverse range of food traders to satisfy even the most hungry of the Solfest crowd. Volunteers are the backbone of the Solfest crew and an extra pair of hands is always welcome, applications for stewards, stage crew, build crew, bar staff are available now. And finally, the Site Art Grant, where artists have a chance to display their creativity with this year’s festival theme. Applications for the site art grant ends on 28/02/2021.
We are also fortunate enough to have an additional 9 weeks after the official end of social distancing measures to survive any short lockdown extensions. If the event gets cancelled due to unfortunate circumstances, just like Solfest 2020, we intend to give you the option to roll over your tickets for the next Solfest or provide a full refund to those who purchased them.
On behalf of the whole Solfest team, We thank you for your patience and for being part of this surreal journey, which is 2021. We are looking forward to have one of our best festivals ever and it’s only possible, thanks to you.
See you at Solfest 2021!
Joe Goulding & Sam R. Johnston
