Meet Sarah Keaveney, Our Kids Area Manager for Solfest 2021!
Saz has been involved with the festival since 2009 and was appointed the manager of the kids area in 2017. Saz is a wonderful, kind hearted and talented individual who always cares for everyone. She is one in a billion and we are so lucky to have her on our team at Solfest.
Saz has made a lovely Statement that she wanted to share to everyone:
“Hi Everyone, My name is Sarah Keaveney aka Saz. I just wanted to do a short brief on my history with the festival. I attended Solfest in 2006 with my husband and two young children and I instantly fell in love with the festival after a fab weekend! The atmosphere was electric, friendly and heart-warming.
After Solfest 2006, I got home and thought…. “my dream is to be involved with that beautiful festival.”
At that time, I was running a toddler group nearby and I became friends with one of the mums there. She was heavily involved with the festival from day one. My involvement with the festival started in about 2009 with a phone call from my friend while away on holiday. She asked me if I would be interested in running the baby chill out tent, (a haven for young children and tired parents). It was a huge privilege and I immediately agreed to do it.
After years of running the BCOT, my real ambition was to get my hands on managing the kid’s area, and in 2017 I was approached by the committee members to do it. I was on cloud 9 and started planning straight away.
To cut a long story short, Solfest was a rollercoaster once upon a time, but I have an excellent kid’s area crew that have supported me on this journey. As you all know, we have new land, which I’m eternally grateful to my cousins for and new directors, a new beginning. I can’t thank Joe and Sam enough for enabling me to carry on living my dream.
The Solfest kid’s area is going to be amazing, we are raring to go and deliver an area with lots of new and exciting equipment, workshops, Storytimes, sports day, the list goes on and on. The kid’s area provides a busy day for the kid’s while the parents can chill out and watch, so see you all in August. From Saz and All The Kids Crew”
